Nina Boas

Nina, born in 1980, studied art at the AKI in Enschede (NL), graduated in 2004 and went on to study to become an art teacher at Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam.

She does performance art, creating her own wonderland, which sometimes is completely out of proportion. She also produces deceivingly simple line-drawings and creates video-art.

“One of the reasons that I moved to Rotterdam was because it’s easier to find a space and initiate art projects. Inspired by Berlin we decided to create the BART Store. Beside my art practice I create and design clothes, products and accessories. We had the idea that a lot of artists seem to make art products next to their practice. We thought it would be nice to create a shop for this. That’s how the BART Store started and became a venue for artist to sell their side line products. A place where artists can introduce others to their high art via low art.“
