Matthijs Vogels studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven.

He developed plates and cups made from carrot and rhubarb waste, so-called wastewear.

He even went a step further and thought up a restaurant where the plates are made from food scraps and after being used as tableware end their life cycle in the oven to provide the heat for cooking.
